about

Poison I.V. is the first song released under my own name. Stay tuned for an EP/LP later this year! Currently writing for it, expect a mixture of post-hardcore inspired rock/punk/indie whatever mixed with intimate acoustic stuff with early emo influences I guess I dunno, it'll be rad though.

lyrics

Everybody needs to feel elated
Everyone needs to feel unsafe
Because the best part about feeling the blood in your veins
Is knowing it could escape them any day

Everybody lies when they say they’d deny what they’re tempted
Everybody has somebody else they'd let into their bed
I’ve grown tired of being whole
I’d sooner pick myself apart than die an unbroken soul

I’ve attained a taste for kerosene and matches
Gasoline and flashes
All in blasé fashion

Let’s mix chemicals and passion
I don’t bury I burn hatchets
I dance daringly for I fear not choking on the ashes

I get my kicks from poison lacing what I drink
I convince myself of every fiction I can think up
I get a sense of success from losing sleep
And a feeling of accomplishment from refusing things I need

I am passive and perverse, a symbol of a suffering
I am a masochistic monochrome, an amaranthine nothing
I think there’s something bitter in these sugar pills
I distract myself with motion to avoid all of my ills

I’ve attained a taste for kerosene and matches
Gasoline and flashes
All in blasé fashion

Let’s mix chemicals and passion
I don’t bury I burn hatchets
I dance daringly for I fear not choking on the ashes

In this cage I made I will soon be held for ransom
And there’s no one left who could wear me with pride
Besides I only ever wear anyone like handcuffs
I cling to wrists with my cold hands both made of knives

I decline attachment or reflection
There’s no use in being hurt by another’s hands
Though mine grow tired and raise their own objections
I’ll drive myself to the comfort of quicksand

And if your detriment has a cause
Then it's worth it to be lost
From your body and your soul
And everyone you know

If your sickness never leaves
Know you’ll one day rest in peace
But time’s hands allow release

I’ve attained a taste for kerosene and matches
Gasoline and flashes
All in blasé fashion

Let’s mix chemicals and passion
I don’t bury I burn hatchets
I dance daringly for I fear not choking on the ashes

I’ve attained a taste for kerosene and matches
Gasoline and flashes
All in blasé fashion

Let’s mix chemicals and passion
I don’t bury I burn hatchets
I dance daringly for I fear not choking on the ashes

And if your detriment has a cause
Then it's worth it to be lost
From your body and your soul
And everyone you know

If your sickness never leaves
Know you’ll one day rest in peace
But time’s hands allow release
